'nilla bugger
I want to add another species to your list of 'nilla bugger victims. I caught a master angler 20 inch wiper on this fly last june.....wipers were nailing it on it's dead fall. GREAT PATTERN!
The Vanilla Bugger (bottom fly in photo) has become one of the most popular streamer patterns on the North Platte River. But the interesting thing is, it works everywhere for just about any freshwater species.
THE VANILLA BUGGER (BOTTOM CENTER IN PHOTO) IS A GREAT PATTERN PARTICULARLY FOR BROWN TROUT IN THE SRPING AND FALL. ALSO OUR FAVORITE CARP PATTERN. DEAD DRIFT AS A CRANEFLY OR STRIP AS A SMALL BAITFISH OR CRAWDAD. A LOT OF CUSTOMERS HAVE USED THIS PATTERN IN ALASKA AND SAY IT OUT FISHES MOST COMMON LOCAL PATTERNS. THIS PATTERN HAS CAUGHT THE FOLLOWING SPECIES PLUS MORE SPECIES BY CAUGHT BY CUSTOMERS (SEE BELOW IN THE REVIEWS).

Caught more fish on the VB than any other fly I ever used. Randy
Just wanted to add a couple of species to your list.. I've caught Redfish and Speckled Trout on a #2 Vanilla Bean down in Rockport Texas. I also caught the largest fish of my career on this fly.. a 25" sea run Brown on the west coast of New Zealand. It is my go to bug!
