Scientific Anglers Stillwater Fly Line

The Scientific Anglers Stillwater Float Fly Line is a full floating lake line for fishing flies at or near the surface. It also carries an indicator rig. It pairs SA's AST Plus coating with a head built two line weights heavy. It suits the stillwater trout angler who fishes multi-fly rigs on long leaders.

Floating line features: Surface and Near-Surface Flies - With no sinking section, the whole line stays on top. Flies fished on a floating leader stay at or just under the surface.

Emerger Tip features a 5.5-foot Sink 2 (2.0 ips) tip with floating head and running line—perfect for fishing just below the surface while anchoring the line in wind

Temperature / Conditions

SA rates the Stillwater series for cold to moderate fresh water. It is a lake and pond line for trout.

Taper / Weight / Design

The Stillwater Float is a weight-forward line with a 45' head and a 100' total length. SA overweights it by two line weights to carry multiple flies and long leaders and to make longer casts. The first 30' of the 5-weight weighs 185gr, the weight of a standard 7-weight. It comes in 5 through 8 weight.
